Unique Hand Woven Textiles From The Scottish Borders
Beaded Fulmar stole.
The Fulmar scarf is one of my simplest yet most popular designs. Woven in 100% silk, the classic striped design has areas of less dense weaving, which gives a beautifully light-weight fabric. The stole shown is woven to a larger size than the standard scarf and has been embellished with glass seed beads in both the fabric itself and on the tassels. This beading, which is an optional extra in any of my scarf designs, adds an extra touch of luxury and individuality to an already exclusive design.
Three scarves; Shearwater, Oyster catcher, Whimbrel.
The Shearwater scarf, shown in 100% silk, has an unusual rib weave which combines up to eight different colours, allowing subtle colour mixing and matching. The overall finish gives a marbled effect which has proved very popular. Oyster catcher, again shown in 100% silk, is woven with regularly spaced side tassels, comprising of up to eight colours. While these generally coordinate with the main body of the scarf, private commisions can be designed to the clients individual tastes. As with all the scarf designs, Oyster catcher can be woven as a stole and have additional beading of the clients choice. Whimbrel, shown in silk and wool, has additional inserts in 100% wool fibre. This gives an unusual and highly individual look to the scarf. The scarf is also available in 100% silk with wool inserts and in stole size.
